Chicago's Near South is a community reborn. It is home to thriving businesses, five historic districts, covers at least eight TIF Districts; and includes major Cultural and Educational institutions in the City of Chicago. Looking today at the area just south of the Loop, from Lake Michigan west to the Chicago River, you'll find a vibrant place where you can live, work, play, study, and shop.

Many, these days, are looking for ways to address or combat the violence in our communities by varied means, such as organizing peace marches or providing programs as a deterrent.  Here, in Cook County, there is an office that is also looking at ways to address the issue.  Just yesterday, April 4, 2017, headlines from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office read “Sheriff Dart Pushes Warrant Reform To Focus On Violence.”  Please make plans to join your fellow members for an interesting program by Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart.
